All Things Matter blog traveled to the CEDIA expo. While the conference is geared toward the high end smart home integrator market, there is an increasing overlap with the consumer smart home side of things. Companies such as Sonos, Aqara, Ring, Shelly, and Lutron represented with consumer products alongside high end gear. Smart shades were plentiful, with Zigbee radios in evidence more than Thread. The Matter standard got some hand waves, and AI continued to be mentioned in every other sentence.
We’ll cover a few standouts and get caught up on all the news half a world away in Berlin, as the IFA 2026 takes place with products that may come to the US, sketchily crafted regulations allowing.
